Give a Gift through our Angel Tree Program
to Help Families in Davidson
The Davidson Police and Fire Departments have teamed up to create an “Angel Tree” to support families in need in Davidson this holiday season.
“We’re really excited about doing the Angel Tree this year,” said Davidson Police Chief Penny Dunn. “We deliver gifts and dinners to about 60 families and we appreciate the support of the Davidson community, including St. Alban’s Episcopal Church.”
The Town of Davidson’s tree is filled with ornaments listing a holiday wish list gift item. Citizens are encouraged to sign up by Monday, December 4 to make someone’s wish come true this holiday. The tree is on display in the town hall lobby during regular business hours (Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.) and during Christmas in Davidson.
Instructions are as follows:
1) Select one or more ornament tags from the Angel Tree by Monday, December 4.
2) Sign out each tag on the registration sheet. Include your complete contact information so we can track the gift from the giver to the recipient. Gifts will remain anonymous.
3) Purchase gift(s) and return unwrapped. Please make sure ornament tag is securely fastened to the gift for tracking purposes. There is no need to spend more than $50 – the suggestions on the ornament tags are “dreams,” not requests for everything.
4) All gifts are to be returned to the Davidson Police Department on or by Wednesday, December 13 by 5:00 p.m.
The Davidson Police and Fire Departments will deliver gifts and food on December 16 or 17. If you are able to help deliver, please call the Davidson Police Department at 704-892-5131.
